It was Horace Greeley, editor of the New York Tribune, who coined the phrase "Go west, young man, go west." Brave individuals who were not afraid of new challenges and opportunities took that advice to heart and led the expansion into the great American West. It seems appropriate that StarTek was founded in Greeley, Colorado, the city named after this unique visionary. We are proud of our pioneering heritage, which is reflected in our "can-do" spirit and business philosophy of doing what is right by our partners, friends, and neighbors.
StarTek began as StarPak, a small product packaging and fulfillment company whose clients grew to include Fortune 500 companies. Our success with these early clients was the foundation for opening our first contact center in Greeley, Colorado and expanding our service offerings to include customer interaction management. In 1997, we went public and moved our headquarters to Denver, Colorado. The company has grown to centers in the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Honduras and Costa Rica. StarTek has become a true global company for clients who are giants in the telecommunications, cable and online retail industries.
